Psychotherapy can be helpful. I guess it's all of what you put into it that would determine how helpful it can be. Each individual reacts differently to psychotherapy. It's all in what you make it.

I would also suggest that you try to be as honest as possible with your therapist. This, in itself, works wonders, at least it has for me. If you have trouble remembering or thinking about what to talk about, as I do, try keeping a journal or making a list of things you would like to talk about during each session.
