I am not sure how many people may be familiar with this, but it is a rather fascinating concept about personality traits and functions. this isn't meant to find any disorders, it is used to find preferences in how we process information.

I'm not much of an expert on it but i'll try to explain a little. there are 16 types, starting with things like being:

Introverted or Extroverted, basically whether your the type of person who feels more refreshed spending time alone reading a book or if your the social butterfly that needs other people to be energized.

there is sensing or Intuiting, this ones pretty hard to distinguish, mostly if you like concrete facts, you use history and examples to base most your decisions, then your a sensory type person, if you have "gut" instincts that normally lead you, than your an intuiting.

Then there is also Thinking and feeling, then finally judging and perceiving.

I'll include a link if anyone wants to take a short quiz to see what it's all about, anyone who is interested I'll share what I know but I am not very good with it. I've read up on it a lot and while I find it fascinating like all of psychology it is not an exact science.

Still it is a fun way to pass the time and many people gain insight into themselves in the process. It is starting to become much more popular in american culture at the moment, so if you have a few minutes to spare I encourage you to check it out.

guess I can't post direct links, sorry about that, I wonder if that means my other post didn't go through.. huh.. hopefully i haven't broken a rule sidestepping the issue like that, if you copy and paste it will take you to the site
