Thanks Samantha. For me, anxiety and anxiety attacks are part of PTSD. I call them anxiety attacks because mine last sooooooooo long...the one's that are really intense and last a shorter time (minutes) I call panic attacks. I don't know if this is technically correct, but these descriptions work fine for me and my pdoc in sorting out my different bouts of anxiety.
I'm on Lexapro, which is an anti-depressant, but my pdoc says it's good for people with anxiety disorders, social disorders, etc. It has worked great for me and has really helped. I also wanted to let you know that little violent episodes come with my PTSD...it can be a normal part of PTSD and you're not alone.
Good luck with your pdoc on Thursday with changing medication. Chaning meds can be tough, let us know if you need any support and take good care of yourself during then.
