I agree with Perna. Its an important point to keep in mind. Please stay in charge and dont feel like you have to do this or have to do that. You just told him. Its a huge step. Remember how difficult it was... To urge you to tell others right now may not be such a good idea. One step at a time - and just be sure you decide which step and in which direction. Support means supporting people in their steps and decisions. Not telling them whats right and wrong for them.
