How about going for a long walk or to the gym alone? Getting out of the house and becoming active could give you space to think about what's bothering you and work off some stress.
You could gently tell your dh that you need a little bit of space, and encourage him to see a buddy for a couple of hours. Sitting down with a notebook and just letting yourself write may shed a little light on how you're feeling and why.
Certainly worth a gentle shot ~ rather than over-reacting to an annoyance and then having negative emotions escalate.
