It sounds like you've got a lot of stressors going on right now...I'm so sorry. I hope things get better soon.

I have 2 adult children who take Adderall. They both take 20 mg. of the extended release (I think this time it's name-brand, but sometimes it's been generic) in the morning. For a while, my 22 yo son was taking another dose of 20 mg. in the afternoon to help with studying, but he doesn't do that any more. He tries to maximize his time by studying between classes etc. He is able to do this in college in ways he wasn't able to do in high school.

I'm no expert, but it doesn't sound as though you are on a high dose. Maybe he was only surprised because it was a "normal" dose compared to the small doses of everything else you are taking? I'm sending positive thoughts and warm hugs to you.
