My academic advisor, who I was really close with, often had partial seizures. He said that things looked "funny" and then sounds were funny and then he would come out of it. They only lasted a few minutes. He was usually depressed afterwards.
He could actually talk and teach class while having a seizure and "fake it", most people in the room had no idea what was going on. I could always tell, even on the phone because his voice was 'distant'. It's hard to describe but he just sounded different.
I know at least Lamictal is also an epilepsy medication and I believe some of our other mood stabilizers are as well. Look up the side effects of what you are taking, there might be a connection there.
