Different towns and clinics have different DBT programs.

In my area, programs depend upon personal circumstances. I have a place to live, so that knocks out the more intensive treatment. There is a Mon, Wed, Fri group. I have 2 young kids and am responsible for their care on those days, so that wasn't not an option for me. Then one meets every Thursday, and that is my group. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my days to see doctors, go to groups, and have some fun.

Once a week really didn't sound like enough when we set it up, but it has turned out to be okay. I see my psychologist on Tuesdays, DBT group on Thursdays, and see other doctors (psychiatrist, internal medicine, etc.) and nurses on those days as well. That keeps my schedule pretty tight, but...not too tight!

It has been helpful for me. I practice the DBT skills regularly, which is the key goal, to help me through my days. It has worked well for me & I certainly recommend it to others feeling frustrated and lost in their journey. Very best wishes to you! You're welcome to IM me if you have more specific Q's.
