I had a hysterectomy at the age of 29!!! (Yes, 29!!) They left my ovaries which continued to work for around 2 years after the op then i noticed that i got palpatitations and night sweats from hell!!! Also had a bone density scan done they discovered that i have osteoporosis too, I am on hormone replacement therapy which is absolutely brilliant, my mum also had a hysterectomy and had hrt for around 15 years but now takes herbal replacements, black cohosh is one of the many various complementary meds. The joys of being a woman!!
However, a point to ponder is that hrt is much like other meds, it takes a while for it to actually start doing its 'job' but once it does its brilliant!! Obviously I go for regular blood pressure monitoring. I have found the patches to be the best way to take hrt as the tablets gave me migraines and the gel rubs off on clothing.......
