I used to work in accounting years ago, and I understand what you are talking about very well. Personally, I struggled working in offices. The stress level was high for me. Seemed to always have cliques ~ which I never fit into! I could not wait to escape that M-F 8-5 job. The days draggggged on for way too many hours for me. It was living hell!
After a few years of absolute misery at work, I couldn't take it anymore. I finally gave up and went back to waiting tables & going to school. That was the best decision for me at that time of my life. There was a financial impact, that's for sure. I haven't made that kind of money ever since. BUT...it's also what I needed to do for myself.
