I think Firestar's post hits the nail on the head.
You have made the most difficult step already - understanding there is a problem and setting up an appointment with a p-doc.
From here on, things can only imporve, as you have reached out for help. Work with the doc, be honest about everything and together you will be able to do whatever necessary to make you feel better.
The first time I ever went to a p-doc he said to me he'd recommend I go to hospital for a few days. At first it freaked me out and I refused categorically. As I was not a threat to anyone, just really depressed, he was prepared to bargain with me. I eventually went in a few days later, after having spoken to people who'd gone through it. I think I needed it - I was put on my first lot of anti-depressants and the hospital allowed me a few days of to relaxed and get away from it all.

I don't think I'd take my test results along - as long as you are open and honest to the doc, he will arrive at the same deduction as your internet test results concluded.
