Chat/internet/text speak drives me absolutely bonkers. Now, I'll admit, If I'm trying to shoot off a quick text message or statement via instant messaging, I'll use the occasional abbreviation or shorthand. But I don't understand how some users on the internet can literally cut down every single word they use.

I've seen some of my former college students have enough gall to use "txt" shorthand in a PAPER they submit for a GRADE. Then they'll be surprised they didn't get a good grade...

I don't know, it just irks me. Guess it's a bigger pet peeve of mine than I'd thought.
