You can beat it - you must try to keep busy, keep your hands and mind busy, occupy your mouth with sugar-free chewing gum. Don't buy chocolately and suchlike stuff if it temps you. (Remember that vomiting erodes your teeth and can also damage your oesophagus). Don't go near the kitchen, do anything that takes your mind away from it, go out for a walk, do some knitting, writing, reading. Do this a few times and you will break the spell. Only you can do it. I did it, and so can you.
