Actually, I am disturbed by the fact that written language is in decline and most everything is going to digital media and all of the trappings associated with it. This is what I believe has led to most of the things pointed out in this thread. If you would like to think I'm a snob for pointing out this, so be it. As for the fluidity of language and its spellings, I completely understand this, but I have a very hard time thinking that it will one day be acceptable to spell words with out a single vowel in them. Also, even as few as a hundred years ago, most spelling was not standardized. So, from one person to the next you may find dramatically different spelling for the same words. Nowadays we do have standardized spellings and aside from the decline in the use of irregular verb conjugation (sleep: slept, dream: dreampt) most other words have stayed spelled the same.

I posted this in the general chat section because no one is required to read it for any reason what-so-ever. I listed in my title what it was about, so if anyone has a problem with it, do as I do when I don't like a title: don't read the thread.

Roseleigh7: Yes, this is a trigger for me, because the decline in education in general seems to be something that's perfectly acceptable. I don't think it's acceptable to not write coherently. If you are going to have the nerve to post something that says you are better than everyone here (because you do not judge others), I find it ironic that in your next post, you do in fact judge by pointing out the humor of grammatical, spelling and punctuation mistakes in a thread complaining about those exact mistakes. As for this being a mental health site and you finding this thread to be a put down, I think that sometimes we all are a little too sensitive to EVERYTHING. I, personally, don't like to have to try to read something that is splld lk ths. As far as I know, this isn't against any rule here.
