I agree there's a time and place for abbreviations and I understand why it came to be in the 1st place. It's a little difficult for a teenager to type out a huge huge word with those tiny little keys and a screen so small, it wouldn't even fit a big word on it. I do find it funny when someone writes out the word 'pleez' instead of 'please' since it's only one less letter. I do hope when the teens who are used to doing these short forms, will indeed be able to write creatively when the time comes.

Personally I love to write/type well. I won a creative writing contest in high school so I pride myself on wording things nicely.
