From PsychCentral's Symptoms of Depression page:
Quote:
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain
Nausea or other physical problems may accompany depression. I personally experience frequent low-grade nausea or stomach discomfort, but I have other problems which could account for those symptoms as well.

Absolutely! I believe it is important to address physical symptoms independent of any mental illness diagnosis. Just because you're depressed doesn't mean you're exempt from other medical problems. Unfortunately, some medical professionals tend to read the symptoms of a person tagged with a mental health diagnosis as manifestations of that diagnosis and not bother searching for other potential causes. (Now I'll get off my soapbox....)
