I am on geodon 1 x 40 mg @ night for bipolar 2 mixed.
I went through the geodon initiation phase .. You will feel like crap, tired, sleepy, dumb, numb and about to die, I wanted to quit and give up but I came too far to start over again with another drug. I took 1 week off of work to get adjusted and my body came around when I went up to 1x60mg but had weird face movements so the dr. took me back down to 40 mg and it went away within 24 hours.
If you are tough enough to handle the first few days/weeks this drug can be a miracle for you. I had previously tried 8 others meds and nothing was "clicking" with my body/mind. This has been a life saver for me..
My dr. had to get tough with me and I had to mentally push myself with geodon. Now my mind is quiet, I can work, play and be a mom who is stable. Also, I lost around 15 pounds within the first 10 days and more coming off as I go. Dr. is also adding a stimulant to help with the groggy mind in the AM and hopefully that doesn't bring back the face movements..
In the end you have to tough out the drug and get past the crappy side effects then hopefully it will work for you.
