Tracylee, it's really confusing to be so angry. Do you know why your angry? Do you know what triggers it?
I started keeping a notebook with a log of all my anger. I carry it with me. I write down how much sleep I've had that day whether or not I've eaten and then what the situation was that made me angry and my response to it. I do it immediately after the outburst, if possible.
After awhile you'll start knowing what triggers it and maybe even why. With this you can foresee if you're going to get triggered in a situation and calm yourself before you even start to get angry. Or at least try to. You can try talking yourself out of getting angry or calmly telling a person in the situation that this kind of thing usually upsets you to the point that you get angry. Try anything to distract yourself from it.
I get most angry when I'm feeling anxious or tired/hungry.
You'll be amazed how much of a difference whether or not you've gotten sleep or have eaten can make. My biggest trigger is when I take a sleeping pill but still don't get the right amount of sleep. Whatever the reason-those are the days I'm at my worst. I now no longer take sleeping pills. I may be tired from no sleep but I'm not groggy and irritable.
I think keeping an anger journal could really help.
Also, if you don't get enough exercise-you'll probably need to release some stress so find something really fun to do that you can get exercise with. Really let out the frustrations when you're in the process of exercising too. I find that to be tremedously helpful.
And one last thing, I tell everyone this because I'm so convinced of it's healing qualities- massage therapy! If you can afford it-get a professional theraputic massage from a certified practitioner. It really calms the soul.
Good luck Tracey! I hope this helps a little.
