I think that has a lot to do with the society we live in. How all the models in magazines and on t.v. are super skinny and such. Plus, in high school at least there is a lot of pressure to be skinny and look a certain way. I think if we emphasized more in the popular media that beauty is only skin deep and beauty is a relative conception anyway that some of this issue might resolve itself.
