gypsymama--I don't know where you live, but I am certain it is not in any of the more progressive and professional areas, where Mental Health is just as important as your physical health--Pick an ocean--East Coast--Maryland--through New England=
good care, with real docs, real medicine; West---you have Sidran, Mayo, etc---progessive medicine where they understand that mental health can affect Physical Health and is to take Priority, Objective and thorough evaluation by a truly well trained Psychiatrist.....this is my experience.
On the East Coast there are still Doctors who keep themselves updated on new neurological data...who are dedicated to "do no Harm"----where are you my friend?
I'm a mess out here in the desert, Doctors here want cash- no insurance--and the ones
they send me to through the WTC 9/11 First responders program are all quacks.
40 years of therapy--and i know the difference----I've been a mess since I left NYC
4 years ago.....any possibility that you can move?--even Maryland has some of the very best-Johns Hopkins--cost of living cheaper than NY.
Do not give uP!!!!! The Patients Bill of Rights applies throughout this country.
You have a right to refuse treatment, you have a right to your records, you have rights!!!!
Unless you are telling them you are a "danger to yourself, or to others".
Call the MHA in Washington DC---Obama could not have taken those rights away as well!!!-----Worried for you--Hugs to you--theo
