I don't care for Dr. Phil either. Of course abuse is passed down the generations; it's about how one raises one's family and what children are "taught" and, without thought, one is just going to repeat what one learned. Good therapy might help but I doubt an hour TV show by a charlatan spouting clichés and platitudes can :-)
