I don't if this helps. I know a man who was bullied at work because he didn't have a girlfriend and they said he was gay. He ignored them but it still made him mad. He ended up surprising them all when he got a girlfriend and got married five months later. He is still married 24 years later. A friend told me about this and that he was picked on in school, also. I didn't know him before the girlfriend because I am the girlfriend who married him.
He has stuck by me through thick and thin because I do have a lot of issues.
