I can't tell from your post if your doctor knows what happened when you were an infant. Your doctor needs to know everything so he knows how to treat you properly and effectively. An MRI tells your doctor what is going on right now, and knowing this will be make your medical care right now most effective.
No, the doctors don't know. My mom hasn't told them and at the time of the last appointment I didn't know, she told me all this on the way home, so I couldn't tell them either. I don't think I need the MRI because what's wrong can't get better or worse, nothings changed in 17 years so I don't know what the point of all this is. I'm looking for an opportunity to tell my mom all this, but I really don't want to mention it around my dad and its the middle of the weekend.

I would just do the MRI anyway, I am curious what my brain looks like (lol)but the doctor wants it with contrast and I have a really bad fear of needles, to the point that I've slept like 3-5 hours a night since I found out about it.
