I've only just started talking about the "mommy stuff" too. I completely understand the need for reassurance that she'll be there. T picked up in last session that whenever I'm going to start the next new, big thing that needs to be worked on, I spend a couple of sessions before going over how much I trust her, fears of rejection or abandonment etc.
Once it all comes out, yes it can be painfully hard and I cry a lot. But so far I've found the trust and liberating feeling that comes with being able to voice what is
really going on deep inside of me (whether written or spoken) outweighs those uncomfortable sessions. And once it's all out there, I look back at them and cherish them, and they make me proud.
