This sounds like one of “those” companies. If you wish to keep your job, review your employee handbook to know all of your rights and responsibilities. In my state they must give you 24 hours notice before changing your schedule without your approval. The up side is they have to notify you, the down side is that it doesn’t matter what you have going on, once they’ve given you notification you’ve got to work.
It may sound like a pain, but really how difficult is it to get into the habit of checking your schedule before you leave at night? I know it’s the principle of the thing, but if you get into that habit it may reduce your stress level.
