It was $100 when I called yesterday.

I called this morning and it's up to 198!

The teller was sympathetic and I explained the whole thing and said that if they record calls then they need to find the recording of the last time I called where THEIR REP told me they could see all my charges, my account was current and I was "all set" and had "nothing to worry about". The only thing they could do was send it to someone to "review" and I was told I'd get a phone call by the end of the day and I did not.

You'd think I must've did some crazy spending to get those charges..right? The teller is going through my transactions..one by one.. Come to find out - THE ACCOUNT WAS TECHNICALLY ONLY 8 BUCKS OVER DRAWN!!! So how in the hell? Just..what?

This should be illegal...but good news is that I was told on August 1st there's some new law passing where banks can't add up "overdraft" fees like this. I went through this before but the situation was different... it was because I was using a debit card for gas purchases and they put MORE on hold than I used.. so their "holds" over drew the account and then they took out fees.

Really..how can they take out the amount in fines when it adds up so much that it takes your income for the week? So I can't eat for a week or 2 because they're assholes?
