I understand how you feel Grizmom. Me and my wife live on $568/month. And I STILL refuse to get on Food stamps. It took all I could just to apply for disability. I always was grown up understanding that no matter how bad you think you have it, someone has it worse.
Some people look up wondering the next, biggest conquer, while others look down, reaching, trying to help others just to get up to where we are. Even if they pull us down a little bit, if we can lift someone else up, that is the important part. If asked, I would give anyone the shirt off my back if they needed it.... but not because they are cold watching their iPad and stuff.
Remember when I was in band in high school. We took a collection on our bus while on a new york city trip, ended up buying a cheap tourist sweatshirt to give to someone who was going to spend another homeless night on the streets. This was near Thanksgiving. I didnt have much, but I gave what I could because there was a hotel room waiting on me.
Look at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Yeah, They live nice. But look what good they have done for the world. Rockefeller the same. Carnegie..
Even the Poor can be Philanthropists.
