I'm with you grizmom. I don't think people understand the true cost of wealth. There is nothing wrong with honestly pursuing a profit from your own labor and invention. What goes wrong is when your consumerism rapes and pillages the planet. I admire those who can see past their bubble and into the heart of the world, where opportunity isn't equally divided among humans. If anything were possible, we would probably all live very comfortable lives, but it's not. The luck that we have is rightly shared with others who were dealt something less than fortunate. That's the positive side of wealth...the power to do good with it. To open a school, a clinic, send medicine, food, etc. That's the only reason I'd ever want a fortune. I find that too much stuff makes me unhappy. I have more than I could ever need and I've been below the poverty line in terms of income for years. People make no sense to me sometimes. They weigh themselves down with fear of loss, thinking they are surrounded with security. It's all fake. All ephemeral.
