Thanks to all of you for your kind replies. I hate confrontations, especially those of financial matters. I actually let my ex husband have mostly everything in our divorce, not wanting to upset his apple cart...money being the most important thing to him.
Yes, there are dishonest people out there. I'm trying to take the attitude of a lesson learned(...of which I've had many.) If I went to the stress and trouble of going to small claims court, I'd get about $125 after the $75 cost of filing the claim. Seems like a little bit of money for the aggravation and stress (which I'd feel bigtime). On the other hand, the principle of the thing might make it worthwhile, if I were the type of person to assert myself in such situations.
Basically, this man just walked away with my guitar. I do know his work situation...he installs all the appliances for a major furniture company. But if I called the company to complain about this non-related guitar incident, they'd probably think me a nut job. Since I live alone, I'm also reluctant to stir the anger of this dishonest man, having experienced some unpleasant stalking incidents in my past.
I don't know what I'll do, if anything. But, thanks to all of you here for giving me feedback.
Patty
Thanks for this!
