at the end of the day, its a delusion we fall into, to be able to progress in therapy.
I just thought I'd share another thought. After several years of work in therapy, I said something in a session that was a moment of real progress for me, and my therapist was moved to tears. I doubt that that was in any psychotherapist training manual. Of course, I made a joke about it (see below), but it was a clear sign to me that there was a true human connection that extends far beyond "T is paid to care."

After two years in psychotherapy, my doctor finally spoke, and it brought me to tears......

"No hablo ingles"
