Your partner needs to be aware of what your triggers are and do his/her best not to push them.
My horse used to do wonders for my moods. Firstly they are a wonderfully calming influence, and secondly - try lose your temper with a 500kg animal! They are awesome at putting you in your place. They also ensure you practice emotional congruency i.e. not wearing a mask. The emotion you therefore project is the real emotion you are experiencing.
I think often rage is a mask for something else e.g. fear.
