I think unfortunately you will need to let her know. I'd probably wait as long as possible i.e. a month before you go. If she does understand, she will support you. She may be able to get some temporary assistance while you are away.
I'm not sure what industry you are in, but could you not go now, or slightly later, when your industry is not in its peak?
