Definitely talk with your physician. I took brand generic Wellbutrin for years and switched to generic, seeing no change. Later was changed to Wellbutrin XL brand came and was later changed to generic when it became available, Buproprion HCL XL. I experienced no difference again with no side effects except in my pocket book. However, a reputable pharmacy is important, approved US manufacturers are listed on the FDA website, and pictures with descriptions can also be found in the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) available at libraries.
