For what it's worth, I think some of it may be grieving but NOT all. And if grieving lasts that long, and to this degree something is wrong. I had some delayed grieving for a lost family member but I am also DEPRESSED. There's a difference, and I'm sorry you've been turned away because "you're grieving".

So please try to find another doctor who will listen to you - I know it's not easy but please do try.
For the sleep, I'm not sure what will help you but for me some over the counter stuff that's meant to help you sleep called Midnite helps me. It would probably help to be able to sleep at the same time each night. I know for me at my very lowest spots nothing I could do would get me sleeping right, so I really know how you feel
