I get this too with my periods. I use ginger and/or peppermint tea to settle my stomach, the nausea, and the bowel. Yogurt with acidophilus helps the stomach and bowel too during this time. Caffeine is an irritant for the uterine lining and bowel and can cause cramping; it is good to minimize it or avoid it all together.
For the cramping, if Pamprin does not work, the GYN recommended Aleve or the generic Naproxen Sodium but is best to take with a bit of food if you can, like a bit of the yogurt or applesauce.
