Honestly, depression is hard to deal with, especially when it impacts your schoolwork and motivation. Not to mention, not everyone is motivated to do schoolwork in the first place!

You say you've been depressed for some time now, are you being treated for it, with psychotherapy/counselling and/or meds? Those can really help if you've got depression that's affecting your ability to function.
