Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the passing of a dear friend. Having struggled many years after the passing of my mother I started a tradition of honouring her life with a feast. I prepare a meal of her favourite foods in her honour and take the time to share with my son and whomever else elects to join us special memories of life with her.
It has become such a blessing that I now do the same for other special people in my life who have passed on. Yesterday was the day to remember my special friend, my son's uncle on his dad's side. It really helped to ease the sorrow felt from the loss. He was a big part of our life and we miss him very much. I thought I would share this with folks so perhaps others who struggle with the grief of loosing a loved one might like to consider adopting the tradition for themselves. It can be a very special blessing. Memories are so precious and taking the time to honour those memories is one small way to keep them alive in our hearts forever.
