I have pernicious anemia and have to get vitamin b12 injections once a month. Does anyone know if this type of anemia is permanent? Will I have to keep getting the shots for the rest of my life or does anyone know if this type of anemia can be temporary and outgrow itself? It's not that i'm afraid of needles or anything, I'm just curious to know if there will be a point where I won't have to keep going if it heals itself (I don't want to be getting the shots for nothing if I don't have to).
Anyone else have this type of anemia or know what would happen if you stop getting the shots? (I"m guessing you'd get quite ill, but would it be fatal or just much unpleasant side effects?) .. I never really asked my doctor much about it and was just wondering..
