I agree with everything everyone already said but I would add, that if you act in a way that he percieves as jealous, or you ask about that girl he works with or if he was looking at that girl at another table while you are out at a restaurant etc etc, he might just be trying to alleviate your fears by telling you that he only wants (desires) you.
