Yeah, ambisol and oragel can be a lifesaver. One thing you should NEVER do is apply heat. I had a bad tootache once and I was applying cold and heat alternately, and when I finally got to the dentist's he told me the heat helped the infection grow and could've resulted in it spreading to my brain! Tooth pain is the worst!
