Don't you love those SUV/trucks that can just be hosed down. Wish the insides of my truck were that easy to take care of. I have white fur lined everything. I started putting blankets over the seats to keep the fur off. I also have doggie beds in there as they go everywhere with me & love to curl up in the beds while they are waiting for me (we don't do that in the summer heat though).
Leo jumped out the window once. When I had the rental car with the real estate agent looking at farms, I accidentally left the window too far open & he squeezed out & came running to find me (ah, the joys of having a dog with separation anxiety....not sure even why because I have never left him since he was born....or maybe that's why)
You are right...they always do it right after the bath....think they just don't like smelling good of having people say how pretty they look.
I have 2 of my eskies that have to be right on top of me. Even in the hottest of weather, she curls up right at my back & as soon as I go to sleep, she puts her paws on my face & lays her head on her paws & my face. Celia has always been the doggie that jumps into my arms (she is a little toy eskie & has a huge jump). I put a chair next to my bed to she could get up on my bed. She does a flying jump onto the bed & right on top of me.....ugh, don't know why they want to do that in the hot summer weather....don't mind in the winter....but NOT IN THE SUMMER!!!! I end up with Celia curled up at my stomach, Tawny right next to my back & Leo at my feet. I am sure that if all 6 of them got along & I could have all of them out at the same time, they would all be on top of me......eskies seem to be that way....or at least mine are.
You are right, the love they give is unbelievable & the most wonderful thing in the world.....really makes life worth living in my book.
Will be interesting to see if I catch another mouse tonight. Last night I caught another one......so I had 3 to dump out way down the street at the empty house today.....these 3 had to be the babies because they were very small compaired to the one big one I finally caught last week. Gotta get rid of this characters. I have mice in my house, but my heart just can't put the poison out to kill them. My friend keeps telling me how bad the mice are & how dangerous they are. All I have seen is that they are messy & have torn up the labels of my food, but other than that, they haven't done the damage like eating my electric wires or anything. They are too dang cute to kill....would rather trap & release far away from my farm. All the mice must know that I don't kill & am a softy though.....I think I have caught at least 12 mice over the last year.......keep praying that soon they will find no more buddies & go into my woods rather than into my house where I have all the food put away & not available to mice. GRRRR, they are taking advantage of my kind bleeding heart that can't kill most things......except for the huge red wasps that keep coming in my bedroom window even with the window closed.....trying to figure out where they are coming in from. Finding at least 5 huge red wasps in the window every day even when it's closed. Maybe they have a wasp nest in the eve, or in the wall behind my bricks & are coming in around the window which I don't have all the insulation put in there yet or the casing put up around it either. Can't imagine where else they are coming from at this point.
Those I can live without & have no qualms in sparying them with insecticide as I can't afford to get stung with all my allergies to things. Got one sting last year, but it was right inbetween my thumb I first finger but not in the hand...only in the skin area...how lucky. It didn't swell as bad as the spider bite I got this year on my hand in almost the same place.
Ah, I do love the fireflys that come out this time of year. They are my favorite & just love to watch their twinkle in the grass & trees. It's like all the trees in my woods have twinkle lights in them.....so very beautiful.
