OK, I watched.

Impressions:

I was somewhat disappointed in the emphasis of this program: too much biology. I am surprised at what I see as the lack of insight, the lack of connection that these people see between the biology and the psychology, or experience. In particular, the role of "censorship", as Freud emphasized, at least at one point: the blocking in the mind of normal recognition of thoughts and feelings. This easily connects the mood changes observed, and the disturbances of thought. To me it explains a lot about the alteration between manic and depressive states, schizophrenic thought disturbances, dissociation, outright anxiety and the other camouflaging forms which anxiety takes, and of course depression, since the organism/person recognizes that something is terribly wrong. Why don't people see this?
