My husband just called and has been in an accident. He says he's not injured. He was driving and a woman pulled out in front of him from a restaurant parking lot and he t-boned her (they weren't going very fast, so its not a serious wreck). He is traveling to a work event, on company time, in a rental car rented by his employer (a university). The rental company says by renting their vehicle and signing that paperwork he waived his rights and is responsible for any car wrecks and resulting damages.

His boss (a vice president) is in the car with him and has offered NO help with this. He has been required to give the police our personal car insurance information. Is this real? We are going to be responsible for this wreck? It just doesn't seem right considering this is all on company time and for a business related thing.

Please help me, I am about to have a break down here. He's out of town until Sunday and I really won't get to talk to him until then.
