I have similar issues with insomnia. Trazedone and OTC (including allergy meds) don't keep me down for long.

To fight it, my doctor prescribes 1200 mg of seroquel. Because that is a really high dose, your doctor would have to approve.

The HUGE side effect of seroquel is the increase in appetite and possible weight gain or even diabetes. My glucose is checked twice a year and so far I have gained weight but am not diabetic. But then again, I spend all my time sitting down and not exercising.

I recently started Klonopin for anxiety and that has a huge sedating effect. I would also talk to your doctor about other meds whose "off-label" use is sleep aid. Risperdal and Zyprexa Zydis worked for me although they can have the side effect of that infamous zombie feeling.

Zyprexa's tablet form caused restless legs for me which is really irritating. The Zydis form melts in your mouth and it acts quickly.

Zyprexa, seroquel, and a bunch of the other antipsychotics have the weight gain as a potential side effect, which is very unfortunate.

Another thing you might have already done is to eliminate all potential stimulants from your diet (eg, caffeine).
