I wasn't sure if this belonged in "Psychotherapy" because he doesn't DO Psychotherapy, just meds management. But this isn't a "Drug Question." So....just leave it alone I guess.

I had to switch providers because of insurance and I've been very apprehensive about the whole deal.

But so far I really like my new psychiatrist. I have only had one actual appointment with him, but he has been very responsive to emails following up, and he listens to me and really answers questions and knows what is going on.

We're doing a med change but it's only because of cost - he can't get me samples of Invega. So we're trying Risperidone. And he has been very clear about what to do, how to do it. When I came back and mentioned that I wasn't totally stable, he was fine with waiting to switch.

And my BIGGEST worry of all - this guy advertised in the Yellow Pages about being a Christian psychiatrist. He has a saying about Christ right on his desk, right there in front of you in the office. Yet as we were talking in my first appointment, some things came up about my past and religion and....long story short - I really don't think religion is going to be a problem. (I'm not religious....very much not religious!!) Phew.

I'm just glad to have found something that will work.
