Aargh.

The apartment complex I live in is extra noisy lately. Major roof work is being done on the building at right angles to mine. Loud noise, huge machines, men yelling.

Trees got chainsawed down. Workers let big branches fall on these three sword ferns that I've nurtured for almost a decade now. Two of the ferns look like they might not make it.

I am reminding myself that this too shall pass. That the plants and the buildings are not mine, I'm not being attacked, and that I can do things that help me out.

Plus this could be so much worse. I am not in the middle of a disaster zone.

So, earplugs are my friends. When I don't have bad headaches, music helps too. I get out of the apartment when I am able.

I know I am extra twitchy and triggered, so I make allowances for that.

And I so appreciate the quiet now when I find it.

How are you'all doin' out there? Anyone else going through being overwhelmed?
