I can so relate to the hypersensitivity to noise. Add a migrain to the mix and escape is the only safe option. Someone just might get hurt otherwise. It is Canada Day here today but our celebrations are super mild compared to what you guys do in the States. Fireworks are illegal other then the big ones set off at the park by the town firefighters so no danger of hearing them go off randomly in the neighbourhood.
