I totally get where you're coming from...after one obsession leaves another one comes up...or the old one just comes back and takes over. What's important is to continue working to overcome the obsessions and compulsions. My OCD has been in remission for quite some time, and it used to paralyze me terribly (I required 3 hospitalizations because of it), but after LOTS of therapy I overcame it.

The biggest thing I learned is that it doesn't matter what the content of the compulsion/obsession is...what matters is how we react to it. If we don't react to an intrusive thought, then it doesn't become an issue. But if we do, it can quickly escalate to a full-blown obsession. How we react is SO important.
