I also have a dog that seems to think that he can eat anything but it's a breed trait, the other two I had were exactly the same (English Bull Terriers). Since eating a plastic father xmas toy 2 xmases ago and having to have a big op to remove his feet (the father xmas not the dog!) I have muzzled him when I'm not around or not able to keep an eye on him (it is a specially made muzzle that allows other dogs to see his expressions etc and he can drink well with it (cheeky little man has also worked out how to eat small pieces of food through it!). Luckily it seems that he is growing out of the chew and swallow and just seems to settle for killing things (his last football lasted 30secs before he managed to put a hole in it!) I still don't trust him completely though.
I ought to make a list of the random things the three of them have managed to eat between them!

Thanks Splitz for the funny story about father Xmas and the feet - too bad he had to have surgery. That must have cost a pretty penny.
I swear I could write a book on Bella. Yesterday my daughter had a package of Twizzler black licorice on the kitchen table. I called my daughter to look at something I had on my computer. So we're looking and I hear a plastic bag crinkling.
I thought she was getting in the chip bag. You're probably thinking - are these the snacks she feeds her kids?? lol
So I told my daughter to run to the kitchen. She devoured I bet, 10-15 licorice strips. I know that licorice(genuine stuff) isn't good for people with high blood pressure. My daughter looked it up while I called the vet. Luckily its not one of the deadly foods, but in that large amount they said she would get diarrhea. So I'm thinking, God works in mysterious ways sometimes - my logic is - diarrhea would make the plum pit come out easier.
Today she was pooping black lol. I couldn't believe how fast she ate them.
