If you are in the market to choose coping mechanisms, why would you choose one that is detrimental and brings shame and embarrassment, and one that you have to UN-learn as you heal?

Keep pushing the negative thoughts out of your mind and think better things.
If you have a counselor or therapist, be sure to talk about active coping skills that will help you heal, and not give you something else to worry about.
